Lost Species Day 2020

ONCA’s call for artists

We’re delighted to be working with textile artist Katie Tume aka Mother Eagle  for this year’s Lost Species Day exhibition in the ONCA gallery window and online. Exhibiting in the gallery window is a paid opportunity. This is Katie’s video calling for collaborators:

Please click here for the BSL version of the invitation.

Key points from the video:

  •  This year’s Lost Species Day invitation to organisers and artists is ‘to use the day as an opportunity to explore ways in which white supremacy has shaped their thinking, and how their work can or does contribute to and strengthen growth of intersectional environmental movements’
  • This is an open call for all artists working with these themes. We are keen particularly to amplify the voices of Black, Indigenous and other artists of colour. All art forms are welcome. A fee will be paid to artists exhibiting in the window (nb. sum depends on number of participating artists)
  • ONCA has invited Katie Tume to exhibit, and to co-curate ONCA’s window and digital spaces
  • The exhibition will be viewable from 27 November 2020 until January 2021, with the featured art likely to be changed at least once during this time
  • DEADLINE: Short turnaround! By 31 October 2020
  • HOW TO SUBMIT: Email or DM or tag Katie on Instagram
