We’re #HereForCulture

Thanks to Arts Council England!

We’re delighted to announce that ONCA has been awarded support through DCMS and Arts Council England’s Culture Recovery Fund Grants Programme!

This wonderful news means that we will be able to continue to contribute to the UK cultural sector and beyond and increase engagement with the climate emergency through the arts. Partial reopening is vital for ONCA’s social relevance and value, and gives us the best chance for survival while the pandemic continues to affect people’s lives and choices.

We aim to re-open ONCA gallery as soon as it’s safe to do so in 2021 – this award will help us to do that. In the meantime, we’re taking the majority of our gallery exhibitions and events online, complemented by displays in our large window viewable from the street, so we can engage and grow our audiences with least risk to public and staff. At ONCA Barge, we’re launching a blend of online workshops and socially distanced creative classes.

About #HereForCulture

#HereForCulture is a movement that unites the public, government and cultural organisations in support of our fantastic cinemas, theatres, music venues, museums, galleries and heritage.  We want people to make sure that where they are able to visit local culture venues in their communities, they do so in a covid secure way. Plus, with more and more culture being curated online, there is no better time to support and enjoy all the new and exciting ways culture is available to us. By being #HereForCulture, we aren’t just supporting the people in the industry, we’re also supporting communities across the country.
