We’re looking for volunteers to support activities at our central hub in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a professional arts environment and understand the behind-the-scenes of ONCA’s daily activities and programme development. 

• Salary: Unpaid. Travel expenses £5 per day.
• Length: 6 months from April to September 2023. 
• Hours: 1 day per week at ONCA, could include evenings and weekends. 

Role requirements: 

• Supporting the everyday tasks of running a coworking space 
• Gardening & DIY 
• Front of house duties at ONCA events 
• Supporting with install and de-install of window exhibitions 
• Transcribing, proofreading, subtitling videos and podcasts
• Invigilating exhibitions (ensuring artworks are safe) 
• Writing blog posts for our website 
• Assisting with workshops 
• Support with ONCA Green Curtain Award at Brighton Fringe Festival 2023
• Assisting and research around improving ONCA’s sustainability practices (composting, recycling, energy efficiency etc.) 
• Support with fundraising and marketing 
• Social media support 
• Representing ONCA around the city at different events, forums etc. 

Skills required:

• Reliable, responsible and punctual 
• Approachable and happy meeting/talking to new people 
• Passionate about the arts and climate justice 
• Committed to ONCA’s environmental and social justice mission
