The Northern Siren by Eleanor Conlon & Rosie Moon

Thursday 1 November, 7:30pm

A romance for double bass, voice and percussion, combining performance poetry and live music, created by Eleanor Conlon and Rosie Moon of Rust and Star Dust Productions. Doors at 7:30pm with cash bar, performance starts at 8pm and runs for approximately 1 hour. ONCA has limited capacity so booking is advised – tickets £12 available in advance here.

About the performers:

Eleanor Conlon

Eleanor is a puppeteer, writer and costume maker. She has an MA in Shakespeare and Early Modern Drama and trained at Shakespeare’s Globe. Eleanor established Rust & Stardust, a puppet theatre company, with Katie Sommers. Plays include The Wild Man of Orford, Three Ribbons, Turning Leaves, A Winter Journey, Dr Dee’s Daughter & The Philosopher’s Stone, The Green Children of Woolpit and Black Shuck.

Rosie Moon

Rosie studied baroque and modern double bass at the Royal College of Music. She has worked with Laurence Cummings and Adrien Butterfield in the London Handel Festival and played regularly with the Britten Pears Baroque Orchestra, the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment around the UK, and the Florilegium Ensemble and The International Baroque Players. Rosie is a member of the ‘Early Music Experiment’, an ensemble which focuses on performing contemporary works with period instruments. Rosie studied for her Masters on modern double bass at Geneva conservatoire with Alberto Bocini and Mirella Vedeva.
