Matti Su is a London based artist and feminist. Since 2008, Matti has exhibited her work throughout Europe, in both solo and group exhibitions, highlights include: My sin. My soul; Lite-House Gallery, Berlin (2017); Between sinful human nature and absolute desire; 5 Base Gallery, London (2017), What is love; Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh (2016). In addition to her work as a painter, she is also an award winning photographer, including first place at the Warsaw Art Photography Festival, as well as a commendation from judges at the Photokina Festival in Cologne and the Photo Festival in Zingst.
Currently studying a PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts, the subject of her research is “Spirituality in Art, Presence Desire”. In her work she is trying to connect consumerism with psychology, such as the work of Jung and Freud, but also uses Hugh Everett theories of the parallel worlds along with the philosophy of Berkeley and Leibniz.
She is fascinated by how “cultures universally transgress through time and space. The values of art are conditioned by strength of their impact and a multifaceted dialogue but it is also an unobtrusive message. Through which the viewer can find subjective values, hidden in the play of light and colour, allowing the viewer to move into a different dimension of reality.”
