MAP: Zine-Making for Wellbeing

19 August
10:30 am
12:30 pm

ONCA hosting a zine-making workshop in honour of Michele Angelo Petrone’s legacy.

Michele Angelo Petrone was an artist who created a collection of artworks expressing the emotional aspects of living with terminal cancer. His paintings, workshops and speeches played a pivotal role in educating health professionals on the importance of complementary therapies and holistic care. Michele’s legacy has informed an integral part of ONCA’s culture and practice.

In this workshop the focus is on creative expression as a form of care-taking. ONCA recognises art as essential to emotional wellbeing. The invitation is to drop-in and create a zine against the backdrop of the exhibition: Journey of the Soul.

In this calm and welcoming space you can learn how to make a zine alongside community. This workshop is open to everyone, you don’t need to have made a zine before or even know what one is! You’ll be guided through the process and all materials will be provided.

Book Tickets

Tickets are donations-based and support ONCA to host artistic workshops and a free programme of exhibitions. However if you do not have the means to pay then you don’t have to. For those that can afford to pay, we suggest between £3 -10 per ticket depending on your income. If you have the means to, then please consider covering the cost of someone else’s ticket too as an act of solidarity.
