Lucy Le Brocq: Unfolding
24 July – 2 August
For Pride 2024, Lucy Le Brocq presents Unfolding, an evolving project uncovering multifaceted, complex and diverse stories from across the LGBTQ+ community. This visually intimate photography exhibition explores queer identity in conversation with its subjects.
The project aims to offer a space where a person can understand themselves a little more through discussing their own experiences. Living and documenting the LGBTQ+ community for 7+ years has meant witnessing deep personal, social and cultural shifts in relation to environmental and political changes. These changes often shape the parameters within which queer people navigate their lives. At the same time the experience of being LGBTQ+ remains unique to the individual. With this in mind, the project aims to offer an accepting space where people from the LGBTQ+ community can explore their own experiences, emotions and relationships, safely and creatively.
Unfolding is part of ONCA’s Associate Artist Programme and is a response to an open call exploring the theme of Pride.
