Artist Talk: Lisa Creagh

24 February 2018
1:00 pm

Lisa Creagh Artist Talk Photo

Saturday 24 February, 1-3pm FREE

Lisa Creagh’s new project, Holding Time, will be showing at ONCA Gallery for two weeks, with an installation of photographic still portraits, a single screen animation and video recorded interviews with participating mothers.

Creagh’s work sets out to remove the barriers to breastfeeding, whilst positively promoting this role in society by providing positive images of mother and child relationships, seeking to re-contextualise motherhood in general and breastfeeding in particular as an active, rather than passive activity.

A collaborative piece, Lisa has worked with breastfeeding mothers, sociologist Lucila Newell, glass maker Mike Barrett and composer Helen Anahita Wilson to create a work which transcends the walls of a gallery.

Lisa Creagh will discuss her practice, her personal motivations behind the work and the need for open discussions about breastfeeding in society.

It will be a great opportunity to get to know her as an artist and to ask any questions you may have.

This is a free event but booking is required via Eventbrite here.
