WORKSHOP : THE UNBEARABLE WHITENESS OF GREEN

1 May 2019
6:00 pm
9:00 pm

At a time of escalating urgency and scale in the environmental movement, this is a workshop for people who want to address ‘the unbearable whiteness of green’ (Van Jones).

Through facilitated dialogue, small group work and creative activities, the session will examine the ways in which white supremacy permeates the mainstream environmental movement.

This is a space for white people and people of colour to understand and critique contemporary British environmentalist practices, and explore alternative models of action that centre solidarity with people of colour, and class awareness.

Hosted by ONCA’s Comms Manager Susuana Amoah and Director Persephone.

Accessibility: ONCA Gallery has hearing assistive technology and the main ground floor space is wheelchair accessible, but the toilet is not accessible. There are accessible toilets 50m away at the North Laine brewery and The Yellow Book.
