Wellbeing, Ecology, Gender & Community (WEGO) Presentations

14 March 2019
6:30 pm
8:30 pm

Using a Pecha Kucha presentation style, this event showcases the projects that make up WEGO to introduce the exciting ways the network is doing activist-inspired research for a more just, balanced, resilient and equal world.

How do we confront climate change? How can we live with increasing environmental degradation? What does social and gender justice look like as communities struggle with plastics, pollution and waste? How do we keep a sense of hope? And what can we learn from communities around the world?

14 young people from 14 different countries are setting off to explore just these issues with research projects around the world that will look for strategies for the environment, well-being, gender equality and community under the umbrella of feminist political ecology.

Inspired by ecology, eco-feminism, degrowth and social justice movements the speakers are part of WEGO, an intergenerational feminist network funded by the EU that is doing research ‘otherwise’ with communities and for our futures.

Speakers include:

Ankita Shrestha | Irene Leonardelli  | Siti Maimunah | Eunice Wangari | Alice Owen  | Dian Ekowati | Enid Henrietta Still | Nanako Nakamura  | Eoin Farrelly | Marlene Gómez | Anna Katharina Voss | Ilenia Iengo  | Nick Bourguignon | Constance Dupuis | Milja Fenger
