The Art of Cycling & Brighton Bicycle Film Festival 2016
14 July 2016 – 16 July 2016
Thursday 14th July, 7pm: ONCA will host BFF Brighton’s opening night with a talk from the brilliant Boneshaker magazine‘s regular writer, Jet McDonald.
Jet will give a multi-layered presentation that applies philosophy to modern life using the experience of a ride and the components of a bicycle to illustrate it. Following Jet’s talk the BBQ will be fired up, the bar open and music playing. Come on down and say hello! Jet’s talk has been organised by Ride With A View, and sponsored by Boneshaker magazine. Free admission/£3 suggested donation.
As well as a weekend of films at the Duke of York’s Picturehouse on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th July, BFF events include a photography exhibition from local curators Miniclick, an installation and making workshop/discussion on The Art of Cycling at ONCA from Reilly Cycleworks Brighton a discovery ride around town organised by Rule 5 bikes and an after party organised by BeNothing headlined by eccentricore synth-punkers, AK/DK.
Friday 15th July, doors open at 6pm: Join us for a fantastic workshop/discussion on the Art of Cycling with local cycling craftsmen Reilly Cycleworks. See technical blueprints, ask advice, learn skills and celebrate making. The latest bespoke Reilly bikes, including carbon frames will be displayed alongside a bike customised by Makgill and Aroe. Discussion will begin around 7pm! Free admission / £3 suggested donation.
Saturday 16th July, 11-6pm: Installation open to the public all day.

Cycling fans from around the UK and Europe will flock to Brighton for the Bicycle Film Festival to celebrate the world’s best invention: the bicycle. BFF returns to Brighton with a programme of short films from established artists to emerging filmmakers, dedicated to those who share passion for adventure, travelling, exploration and, of course, bicycles. From its roots in New York, the BFF is now a multi-faceted global event that has travelled to over 60 cities around the world, from Quebec to Quito, Moscow to Mexico City. It was created in 2001 to encourage global participation and awareness of cycling and to help promote cycling across all forms. The festival celebrates the bicycle by joining many creative communities, including fashion, music and art.
