Sussex Wildlife Trust: Talk + Q&A

12 September
1:30 pm
2:30 pm

Join us for an insightful event at ONCA gallery in collaboration with photographic artist Benjamin Youd and Sussex Wildlife Trust.

The Wilder Ouse project from Sussex Wildlife Trust is bringing people together across the Ouse catchment area to restore ecological connectivity, ecosystem function and climate resilience by establishing a robust Nature Connectivity Network. Project leaders will be sharing their insights from this process during an hour-long discussion: What is a river, and how can we strengthen our connection to it.

The talk will take place against the backdrop of ONCA’s current exhibition River Story, by photographic artist Benjamin Youd. The talk invites the audience to think about how can we form a deeper connection with rivers in the UK, and in doing so, understand more about the work that needs to be done to allow health river ecosystem to thrive.

You will be taken on a journey to explore the structures of river systems, and how we can work together to conserve them. There will be plenty of time questions and answers.

Please take some time to have a look around the gallery exhibition during your visit. The artist, Benjamin Youd will be around to discuss his work.

About The Wilder Ouse Project

The Wilder Ouse Project embodies the notion that small changes make big impacts in the restoration of nature. They work with landowners, farmers, communities, Parish Councils and other organisations to deliver nature-based solutions that are improving landscape connectivity for the benefit of wildlife and people. Examples of this being planting native hedgerows or maintaining dams and wetland habitats by creating scrapes and ponds. This connected approach helps to sequester tens of thousands of tonnes of carbon through effective environmental stewardship.

This event is free to attend however there are limited spaces so if you can no longer make it, please let us know by emailing , thank you.
