Susanna Sews Pop-up Shop Party | Drink Make & Do

25 November 2018
4:30 pm
6:30 pm

Join us for Susanna Sews’s Official Re-launch party!

Susanna Sews is a social enterprise, creating handmade accessories to fund interactive workshops, based in her hometown of South London. Susanna Sews’s mission is to explore the calming effects of craft as a means of therapy, whilst also functioning as a powerful tool for political activism. Visually communicated practice-based politics forms the foundation of Susanna Sews, as influenced by her interests and lived experience.

ONCA and Susanna Sews are really pleased to announce that from November 25th, Susanna Sews products will be available in ONCA’s online and gallery shops – We hope that you can join us to celebrate! As it is also the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we’ll be donating part of the profits raised on the night to RISE, a Brighton-based charity that helps people affected by domestic abuse.

Drink, Make & Do!

Get involved in this workshop exploring mental health through the power of craft. You’ll be shown how to make a badge to take home, surrounding themes relating to trauma, empowerment and survival. Together we’ll explore the calming effects of craft as a means of therapy, resistance and resilience.

Come and join this craftivist workshop to de-stress and strengthen your understanding of craft as a tool of political activism, in a relaxed and safe space.

Bring your ideas, emotions and an eagerness to learn and you’ll leave with a tangible product of your efforts. The workshop is structured but you decide how your badge comes into existence.

Throughout the afternoon we’ll be joined by the brilliant DJs from Gal Pals.

Shop and get a discount! All day!

Ticket holders to the workshop get 10% off products purchased on the night.
