Sharon Kilgannon: Pride
12 July 2023 – 7 August 2023
For Trans Pride Brighton and Brighton Pride 2023, ONCA is delighted to show works by Brighton-based photographic artist Sharon Kilgannon, aka Alonglines.
Sharon has been documenting Brighton’s LGBTQIA+ community for over a decade, generating a rich archive through photography at queer events and portraits generated through empowering collaborations with the sitters. The images here are from Trans Pride Brighton – the first and largest Trans Pride event outside America – which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
This exhibition is viewable in the ONCA window gallery from 12 July to 7 August. ‘Ten Years of Trans Joy’, a further selection of Sharon’s photographic portraits, is also on exhibition at the Ledward Centre from 14 July to 7 August.
Read the Trans Pride 2023 schedule and programme. Many elements of the weekend are BSL interpreted.
