6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Join us for the book launch and reading of work produced by participants of the Eco-Poetics course that ran at ONCA in Autumn 2018.
Eco-Poetics was an 8 week course run by artists Clare Whistler and Kay Syrad. The course worked with Donna Haraway’s idea of ‘tentacular’ or connective thinking; attempting to de-centre the human in favour of a greater awareness of the elements and other species in our thinking and writing; often working collaboratively during the sessions. In these ways, the course was not quite a ‘creative writing’ course, it focused, rather, on creating dynamic new work in a shared context, drawing on an international range of historical and contemporary eco-poetry and prose, and led to a small publication featuring this work, which this event celebrates.
