Graduate Monthly: Traversing the Studio

30 August 2017
6:30 pm
8:30 pm

As part of ONCA’s artist support programme we’re launching a monthly event for graduate artists in partnership with Lorna Ough, curator of Maybe What Happens Now Is, and recent Brighton University graduate (Critical Fine Art Practice).

The aim of these events is to create an informal peer led network offering emerging artists the support and resources necessary to continue developing their creative practices in Brighton.

Traversing the Studio will focus on navigating the transition from University studio provisions, to working within the limitations graduate artists often find themselves in. Examples of radical approaches to studio practice, interrogation of the romantic ideal of ‘the artist in their studio’ and conversation around what studio practice could be, are just some of the themes that will be explored in this first event.

Graduate Monthly is open to anyone currently based in Brighton and the surrounding areas that graduated from a visual art course in the last 3-4 years. Please contact our Gallery Manager:  if you have specific access requirements or queries.

This is a free event but please confirm your attendance in advance via Eventbrite.
