Handmaids Tale by Florence Boyd

Boyd’s work stems from observation and narrative drawings she makes of the everyday. Repetitive motifs often reveal themselves as part of exploring subtle details of objects and landscape. This can result in quite surreal imagery. Boyd’s background as an illustrator often informs her passion for developing sequential imagery. Commissions include Margaret Atwood’s Handmaids Tale with Random House, The Clever Cats Bookclub with Penguin Australia and and the Seven Deadly Sins with Union Books. Publications include Granta and the AOI. Boyd has worked as freelance designer for theatre for the last 3 years. Working in both 2D and 3D she has recently exhibited in York, a UK touring paper sculpture show, Cádiz (Spain), Alaska, Wales and Australia.
