Antarctic Animal Art: Family workshop with Bea von Preussen
13 April 2019
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Join one of ONCA’s favourite artists Bea von Preussen for a spring family art workshop on the Barge.
Come and collage a humpback whale and other antarctic animals. A nature based art workshop with nature artist Beatrice von Preussen. Beatrice has just returned from Antarctica where she drew penguins and worked with scientists, spotting and recording whales. Participants will be finding out how to recognise a humpback and having fun with mark making, tone, and texture.
This is a great opportunity for children and adults to get creative together whilst learning about the natural world. No art experience necessary, fun for all the family! £10 per person.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Beatrice has been Artist in Residence at Battersea Park Zoo and traveled to the high arctic in search of fossilised worms’ teeth for the Natural History Museum. She makes prints and illustrations inspired by the wonders of the natural world, be that polar bears and glaciers or the woodlice on her doorstep.
