A Seeing of Forests: Becoming More Than Human
20 August 2014
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join us in the midst of ONCA’s becoming-animal exhibition to hear tales of fox-women, wolf-girls and forest speakers.
From Red Riding Hoods to Siberian Shamans, this is a night of tales familiar and unfamiliar, old and new, in which skin becomes a site of transition, and finding a home becomes an entirely different quest. Join poet Joanna Coleman and storyteller Abbie Palache for an evening of adult fairy tales and a celebration of shapeshifting enchantment.
The event will be in two parts, the first a storytelling performance and the second an open writing space, in which the audience will be invited to use the art on the walls and the words in the air to reach and weave their own wild voices.
