Fools and Magicians – tarot study group workshop #1

14 January 2020
7:00 pm
9:00 pm

This is an opportunity for participants to re-vision and claim the tarot beyond inherited ideas.

Why this study group?

This will be a space for nurturing and inspiring intuitive practice. The aim of this study group pilot project is to explore new dimensions of the Fool’s Journey using queer and non-traditional notions of archetypal images and story. This is an opportunity for participants to re-vision and claim the tarot beyond inherited ideas. It will be a nurturing and experimental space for collective learning and support, celebrating tarot as an art form and exploring its healing potential.

Who is it for?

This will be an inclusive space for people of all backgrounds and levels of experience:

As an experienced tarot reader you will open the possibility for more expanded and inclusive ways into reading for yourself and others.

As someone new to tarot you will discover the wonderful healing potential of the cards as a daily self help tool.

What will we be doing?

We will explore collectively decoding the archetypes of the tarot, exploring the group’s diverse experiences and perspectives that bring the cards alive in contemporary and dynamic ways. Activities will include:

  • Exercises to explore and develop intuition through the art
  • Working in pairs and small groups doing readings for each other
  • Comparing the cards from different decks
  • Challenging traditional notions around the archetypes
  • Delving into the more complex and often misunderstood cards

…and much more. Bring your favourite deck!

About the facilitator

The sessions will be facilitated by Rachel Porter – tarot reader, empath/ intuitive, creative arts therapy teacher and supervisor, theatre maker and performer.
