Wild Adventures: kids’ zine making with Daniel Locke

Free, for children aged 6-10.
Saturday 19 January 2019, 11am-1pm OR 2pm-4pm.
Your child can join graphic novelist Daniel Locke at ONCA’s Barge at Brighton Marina for a fun day of drawing and thinking about the natural world. Daniel will introduce your kids to the history of the natural world through a process of story-telling and hands on experimental drawing and collage. By the end of the session children will have produced their own wild adventure zine and learned about wild nature!

About the artist
Daniel Locke is an artist and graphic novelist. His most recent graphic novel Out of Nothing was published in November 2017 by Nobrow Press. Daniel’s work is featured in many anthologies of contemporary comics, and in 2016 his novella Pneuma was published in the USA by Tinto Press. Since 2013 much of his work has been informed and shaped by the discoveries of contemporary science. He’s worked with Nobrow, Arts Council England, The Wellcome Trust and The National Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
He is currently working on his second full-length graphic novel, Going Home, also to be published by Nobrow Press and a third book, Two Heads, a collaboration with writer Alex Frith and Neuroscientists Uta and Chris Frith. Daniel often collaborates with other artists and scientists having worked with David Blandy, Laura Malacart, Karrie Fransman, Joe Decie, Dr Adam Rutherford and Dr Chris Sandom to name a few.
