Nature Table Art Workshop with nature artist Beatrice von Preussen
3 November 2018
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Come and swirl a sinestral snail spiral! Let’s look at leaves, draw with rocks; cut, paint, print and stick. Together we can explore nature through art.
Beatrice has been Artist in Residence at Battersea Park Zoo and traveled to the high arctic in search of fossilised worms’ teeth for the Natural History Museum. She makes prints and illustrations inspired by the wonders of the natural world, be that polar bears and glaciers or the woodlice on her doorstep.
Come and join our nature table workshop, an inspiring session encouraging our natural curiosity to explore the world around us.
Bring a little something to add to our nature table: a leaf, a shell, a skull – anything you like – you can take it away again at the end. Together we will investigate the amazing shapes, textures and colours of nature, and Beatrice will share the techniques she uses to make her illustration and print work.
You will learn a bit of science, share some knowledge, and enjoy discovering the natural world from a new angle as well as creating your own nature collection assemblage to take home.
This fun workshop is suitable for children and adults to work along side one another, children must be accompanied by a paying adult (up to 3 children per adult). Paying adults are welcome to attend without children.
