Green or Greed?

Whose Land Is It Anyway?

It has come to light that there has been pre-approval for work to commence on The Level with the intention of building a block of flats.
The Project team insist the building will be solar powered and energy efficient and have also allegedly agreed to a number of green initiatives around the city, as per the Section 106 Agreement for new developments (the sponsoring of Magpie recycling and a wind turbine), but is this just sweetening a poisonous pill?

It is rumoured that the block will contain only luxury flats; the sole agent for handling the sales is based in London. There is mention that two studios will be available at a reduced rate as per the Section 106 Agreement, but this is not confirmed.

The Project Team and a representative of the city’s Planning Department have agreed to a meeting at ONCA to share their plans and discuss the concerns of local residents.

The meeting will be at 8.30pm, but it is recommended that interested parties come earlier (any time from 7.30pm) to familiarise yourself with the plans.

Please note: this is a fictional, immersive, interactive theatre piece by M/Others Uncorked. You can enter the space any time from 7.30pm.

Suggested donation £5 on entry – book your place here via Eventbrite.

When you arrive, you will be playing a resident who is interested in this property development and is either supportive, negative or neutral about it. You will go around the space meeting other characters. It is not ‘audience participation’ like you would get at a comedy night, because you control your level of engagement.
