Curious Kids: Willow Weaving Workshop

31 October
10:00 am
12:00 pm

Learn how to do simple weaving during the autumn school holidays in this workshop for 6 – 11 year olds.

As the days get shorter and the trees lose the last of their leafy coats, we’ll be using willow and fallen leaves for am autumnal workshop. Come and join us in celebrating the changing seasons through the traditional craft of willow weaving.

Willow weaving is an ancient craft that has been practiced for thousands of years. We’ll be making stars and woven fish from locally sourced willow. This workshop is a simple introduction to weaving and open to everyone – no experience necessary!

Curious Kids is a workshop programme for 6 – 11 years olds taking place between autumn and winter at ONCA. Curious Kids workshops provide vital opportunities for social connections and creative play, crucial for childhood development and positive wellbeing, while reducing barriers to accessing art.

This workshop is free to attend but all children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session, with no more than two children per one adult in attendance. You only need to book tickets for children. Snacks will be provided so please make ONCA aware of any allergies in advance. The activity may be messy so please wear appropriate clothing.
