An evening with climate justice advocate Jennifer Uchendu

18 July 2023
6:30 pm
8:00 pm

This event is for anyone whose feelings about climate change include concern for intergenerational and international equity and justice.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nigeria-based eco-emotions researcher and ONCA trustee Jennifer Uchendu to the gallery to talk about her work on mental health and climate justice in African contexts. Jennifer’s focus is primarily on fostering agency and resilience in young people, with a specific emphasis on experiences of mental health in the context of climate change in Africa. In 2016 Jennifer founded environmental organisation SustyVibes, and in 2022 she founded TEAP, the Eco-Anxiety Africa Project.

After her talk, Jennifer will answer questions and take part in an informal group discussion co-facilitated by ONCA co-director Persephone Pearl.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jennifer is a prolific educator, facilitator and speaker. For example, she recently co-facilitated a Global Convening of Youth on Eco Anxiety and this summer will take part in the Panel Session on Climate Change, Mental Health and Youth at the IPPA 8th World Congress on Positive Psychology.
