An afternoon of film screenings showing the documentary series Voices from the Roof of the World produced by Pakistani filmmakers.

Join us in the gallery between 1pm and 4pm when we will be screening a selection of short films from the Voices from the Roof of the World series. With the support of director Andrew Tkach, Pakistani filmmakers have produced their own short documentaries about the climate crisis and its impacts on them and their communities.

The films

  • The Sky is Far the Earth is Tough (33 minutes)
  • Collision Course (29 minutes)
  • Forest in Peril (30 minutes)
  • No Water No Village (29 minutes)
  • The Colour of Smog (29 minutes)
  • Bears on the Brink (26 minutes)

The films are in English and Urdu with a mixture of auto-generated and embedded English subtitles.

This is a free drop-in event, no need to book, but donations are encouraged. These educational films are suitable for general audiences.

Donations

This event is part of a wider events programme aimed at raising funds to support the Pakistan flood relief efforts. It’s drop-in and free to attend but donations are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will go to WDF (Women Democratic Front) a Pakistan-based, independent socialist-feminist resistance movement, providing aid to communities affected by flooding since 2018.
