STARE

15 May 201919 May 2019

STARE is the debut exhibition from Ripple Art Collective.

The group of women aim to open conversations on body consciousness and other issues concerning society, sexism and gender. This mixed media show offers personal and autobiographical reflections on the artists’ own bodies, experiences and attitudes, representing only a part of the spectrum of female identities.

Throughout the process of creating the artwork the artists let their body hair grow, some for the first time since adolescence. This exhibition documents their journeys, questions that were raised and what was experienced.

In the main gallery Hazel McCoubrey, Lucy Le Brocq and Veronika Teo present illustration, photography and paintings and in the basement Amy Anam Cara and Helen Plumb present a collaborative video work.

Launch event: 6 – 9pm Thursday 16 May RSVP

Life Drawing: 4 – 6pm Saturday 18 May, £8 (+booking fee) Book Tickets
