M/others Uncorked: The Health of Nations
24 April 2018
7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
The Hospital has severe financial problems and so has to take some difficult decisions. The Clinical Commissioning Group has identified three services that they believe are not cost-effective.
One of these services faces losing up to 100% of its funding, effectively closing that service. These are the three services affected:
- Psychological support for patients with inflammatory bowel disease and other digestive conditions
- Vasectomy and Circumcision Service
- The Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS)
A local journalist has found out about these plans and believes it is in the public interest to influence what happens in the hospital. Representatives of the hospital, Healthwatch, the Clinical Commissioning group and the council will be holding a meeting to canvass local opinion. It is expected that local residents who have utilised one of these services will be invited to speak about their experiences.
The meeting will be at 8.30pm, but it is recommended that interested parties come earlier (any time from 7.30pm) to familiarise yourself with the plans.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A FICTIONAL, IMMERSIVE, INTERACTIVE THEATRE PIECE. YOU CAN ENTER THE SPACE AT ANY TIME FROM 7.30PM. PRICE: £5 ON ENTRY SUGGESTED DONATION – BOOK HERETO RESERVE A SPACE.
When you arrive, you will be playing a resident who has opinions about the planned cuts. You will go around the space meeting other characters. It is not ‘audience participation’ like you would get at a comedy night, because you control your level of engagement. For more info, email
