At ONCA, we’re developing our partnership programme for arts facilitators who work with children and young people.
For the last 3 years, we’ve been running ‘ONCA Kids Art Club’ – holiday art activities for 6-11 year olds. These workshops are delivered by ONCA artists and usually last for 2 hours. They use a wide range of fun, creative art activities to engage children with issues around local biodiversity and climate change. They take place on the ONCA Barge – our floating workshop venue at Brighton Marina. We charge £10 – £15 per participant.
Now we’re looking to build a larger network of facilitators to collaborate with ONCA and help promote each other’s events across the region. We seek practitioners who work with younger children as well as teenagers and families. We’ve started to develop an ‘ONCA Kids Collabs’ programme, collaborating with local partner organisations and artists to run the sessions.
We have been working with a ticket split in which facilitators take 2/3rds and ONCA takes 1/3rd of income. Facilitators do not have to pay for venue hire and can be supported by ONCA to deliver events. We are inviting artists to propose sessions to run over the summer holidays this year, and at other points through the year. Come to a meeting to find out more and share ideas.
Things ONCA will provide:
- Marketing and event promotion in the lead-up to your workshop on ONCA’s website and social media channel
- Ticket sales management through Eventbrite
- Volunteers to support where possible
Things you will need:
- Public liability insurance
- Whatever materials are required for the workshop
- Volunteers, if you are able to bring your own
