ONCA is delighted to have been selected to deliver the new Emerge project as part of the 3Ts redevelopment at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. Emerge is a creative project for staff in departments affected by the transition into the new 3Ts buildings on the Royal Sussex County Hospital site.
Hospital staff who are moving into 3Ts may feel a sense of loss that the buildings that they know and love are to be demolished; they might feel anxiety about whether they will have to change their working practices or work as part of a new team within the new building; they may experience disruption during the build itself.
Over the next 3 years, ONCA lead artist Sarah Bennett and other creative practitioners will develop activities for – and in dialogue with – hospital staff, to support wellbeing in this time of change.
ONCA is an arts organisation specialising in supporting the wellbeing of people and places by increasing engagement with environmental and social challenges; our work for the programme will aim to alleviate any stress and uncertainty which maybe caused by the hospital move. The Emerge programme will align with the New Economics Foundation’s five ways to wellbeing:
• Take Notice
• Be Active
