FutureCoast launch: help us hear our futures!

26 September 2015
6:00 pm
8:00 pm

Can you help us to hear our climate futures? There isn’t just one.

What will the future of climate change feel and sound like? How will people live, and how will they be affected by a climatically changed world? How can stories from our possible futures help us to understand climate change in the present?

Thinking about the future can feel difficult in the present. As part of a global digital storytelling project about the effects of climate change, FutureCoast asks you to help imagine and create a range of possible futures through creative play. ONCA Arts & Ecology and the University of Brighton invites you to participate in an exciting free event on September 26th, 6-8pm, to launch and play our version of FutureCoast.

Inspired by http://futurecoast.org/ – the pioneering online game created by US-based designer Ken Eklund – participants will attend a theatrical briefing, and get the chance to record their own ‘voicemails from the future’ via the FutureBooth  – a specially modified, portable phone booth which people can use to share their ideas about imagined climatically-changed futures.

Refreshments will be available. The event is open to all (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult) but spaces are limited. Book your place here!
