Volunteers make up ONCA’s backbone. Since opening in 2012, we have been amazed at the spectrum of skills, achievement and support people have brought to us. Our volunteers have enabled us to continue, have forged new links, developed our projects, and have acted as our ambassadors.

We currently have a network of 50 volunteers, and have an open door to anyone wishing to get involved, in whatever capacity and scale. We recognise that time is precious, and hope that in exchange for yours, we can provide experiences, growth and learning.

As a volunteer, we would never ask you to do anything you did not feel comfortable with, and it is important to us that we understand the needs of each individual. We feel that communication is key, which is why we have a drop in session on the first Wednesday of every month for new recruits and old hands. It is a chance to meet the team, to get to know the space and the schedule for upcoming opportunities. Keep checking our website, Facebook and Twitter for information.

Volunteer roles might include, but are not restricted to:

  • Installing and de-installing exhibitions
  • Invigilating exhibitions
  • Organising and helping with events and workshops
  • Maintaining our spaces
  • Gardening & DIY
  • Article writing for our blog
  • Photography and graphic design
  • Fundraising and marketing
  • Project Managing

We appreciate all skills, ideas and energies – just get in touch:
